Toward But Also Away From The Untoward Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Toward But Also Away From The Untoward

I promise that nothing of an untoward nature will occur
If you ever choose to meet me again for checked desire in a public realm
Behind the devil's aestheticism, I can't believe I came out no longer bothered by her and their disdain

It feels natural but I have nothing to ask forgiveness for
And no one to ask forgiveness from other than myself
Spending spree at a marketplace of suspended morality but I just watch and feel superior

I vow that nothing of an untoward nature will occur
If you ever choose to accept my offer of a ride into time
Let's just see how far this association can be drawn out
How long it can be extended before it snaps in two

Cup my hands over my eyes, the distance is unmoving and compressed
Last lifetime, you were on the opposite peak looking in the exact same direction
With the same fat feelings of thwarted covetousness but with the uncontrollable intentions that contradict this desolate disappointment
