Trails Of Life Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Trails Of Life

Sometimes I ponder the world when I wonder
Under the stars where I dream
The cattle are sleeping, it is late in the evening
Me alone eating wieners with beans

A feeling of something keeps my mind wide awake
So many stars in the sky here this night
I lie with the snakes and spiders near by
As I have from the very first day

Shall this dream that I wonder
Become more than a dream
Will my love ever be more, Will I find

Often the lonely is only passing, of time
Cowboys like me never cry

Always the feelings belong whenever they are mine
While pondering with a wandering mind
Until the light of the dawn whisks away weary thoughts
Ever riding each trail of life
