Transformation. Poem by dave lessard

Transformation.

You took away my pain and sorrow Lord
replaced them with the joys of life;
I lay down my wicked, worldly sword
set aside with happiness, my strife.

I welcome peace that I don't understand
blessings that take the hurt away;
I take with gladness, Your strong hand
awake with promise, to the brand new day.

You called my name when I went seeking
gave me power - with your holy word;
now I've no need to go on weeping
You're everything I never heard.

You stabilized my unruly ways
blotted anger from my acid tongue;
from my sin-filled evil ways
when I was ignorant and young.

Your truth is my solace and my balm
music that satisfies the savage heart;
when I think of You I'm always calm
when I know of You I'll always be a part.
