Transitional Shift Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Transitional Shift

In between transitions.
To experience the discomfort,
Of one slowly leaving.
As another enters to begin.
This movement for many,
Will not come to be smooth.
With a doing to accept,
What it is God chooses to do.

This transitional shift,
Introduces confusion and conflicts.
Many perceive,
They have a choice to reject.
But...
With each stage of growth,
Is not a preference to make.
And those with steadfast faith,
Know this is a decision God makes.

It does not matter,
Who is black or white.
Hispanic, Asian.
Or feels their rights are being invaded.
Who is conservative or liberal.
Right or left.
To perceive their quality of life,
Has begun from them to fade.
It does not matter,
Who is rich or poor.
Or where those doors are,
Protected by guards and electronic gates.

Everyone is going through,
A transitional shift.
Regardless who disapproves of it.
This is the doing of The Creator.
The 'One' who condones,
And decides what is done to do.
With a doing to pick,
A messenger unfit.
To awaken everyone,
From their nonsense of pettiness.
Into a conscious enlightenment.
To realize eventually...
What God does to do,
Is done in the most mysterious ways.
Only God chooses done to approve.

And if not...
It will be only God that stops it!
