Traveling About Poem by Randy McClave

Traveling About

As I have traveled about the world
Into many countries my thoughts were hurled,
As if though looking for that perfect place
As if looking for that one special face.
I been to Scotland so far away
And seemingly I looked every single day,
The beauty and the intelligence could not be found
So, once again I was homeward bound.
Then when I was home once again
Then locally once more my search was to begin,
Maybe there I could find that perfect soul
Total and complete happiness is my goal.
I searched and I searched and I couldn't find her nearby
So, I then released a sad and desperate sigh,
Then I thought again late that night
Unto Japan, I will make my flight.
Then I landed in the land of the rising sun
Soon my search and my conquest will have begun,
Beautiful Japanese women were both here and there
As I looked everywhere.
Now as I lie lonely on my bed
Giving up the searching is now my thought instead,
But, now upon my face there grows a smile
Which could stretch for a country mile.
Next week I will be heading back home
No more for companionship I swear will I roam,
The woman of my dreams is my neighbor
Not in a different country but in a different city she does labor.
