Treacherous Bravery Poem by Pacha Mama

Treacherous Bravery

Rating: 3.8

I thought I could handle it
Trying to be brave
To the outside world it all looked serene
Masking what inside was a fragile breaking shell
False confidence used to protect the heart
You came in from nowhere to expose it all
Bit by bit you began to break down those walls
Normally so rigid, now weakened by a world crashing down
Were you ever sincere? It's hard to tell
Tis a question that will continue to haunt
And yet a newfound strength will come from all of this
Escapism was sought in the wrong place
Blinkers on, self-destruction unstoppable
Brutal honesty the only means to shock back to reality
Acknowledge the pain and live again
Welcome back to the world
Know that you are enough as you are
You never needed to impress
All along you did it without trying
Is there a way back? Who can tell?
Difficult as it was, it had to be done
And whilst the future is uncertain
Some thanks must go out
For tough love's bittersweet taste

Well articulated piece of poetry nicely penned. I like the insight of the poem and the subject's resolve to rise to the occasion. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. ➕9
