Treachery Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Treachery

Steel your heart
From treacherous friends
They come like a thief
In the middle of the night
And steal away your heart outright

You are mislead by sweet talk
Promises of nothing
And moonlight walks
And then when the dagger is deep inside
They twist and turn and pull it outside

The hapless victim doesn't know
If he had been hit by friend or foe
She wanders around in deep pain
A twisted smile time and again
She has been had its plain to see

Of this there is no mystery
The poor little thing has been psyched
And promised the earth and its mysterious delights
When all along in the shadows unseen
Were her two pals getting keen

She knew now what it felt to be used
To be tested and perused
And then blinded from sight
Now she couldn't even stand upright
Her heart is stricken

It feels tight
On it is a permanent blight
There is no breathing
It has stopped
The old ticker has given up
