Treasures Poem by Corinne R

Rating: 5.0

Zoo

Treasures multiplied in time.
Joyous bundles of life all wrapped in fur
Quiet, gentle, shades cavorting,
Feathers emerald green, rainbow beaks or long, red hair on wrap-around arms.

A monkey on my back, a fine feathered friend, a tiger by the tail.
Playing, growing, loving. Pure and absolute.

Swept away like the dust upon the wind.
Lost, forever gone, they live in memory.
I wish them well and send my love although I know not where.
My children gone, how much, how deep I care
and my heart calls out to long ago.

Swept away like the dust upon the wind,
scattered far and wide in this life and the next.
Love undying, flowing forth on tears of longing, cries out for them,
each and every one swept away like the dust upon the wind.

Cornne, a ten, for this truly touching poem. Your heart did the writing on this one. Look forward to more.
