Treasures Of Silence Poem by C.F. Wilkins

Treasures Of Silence

Sometimes silence contains treasures galore,
When the voice of wisdom can be heard much more
Than the rush of this life's rapid feet
And the thump of society's thundering heartbeat.

Pleasant visions of childhood's joy and innocence,
And of friends and places you haven't seen since,
Help you when passing through the vale of sorrows,
And help to give hope for unseen tomorrows.

But if it is true that life is a test,
What person can pass it at their very best?
Oh, be silent, be silent and think it not odd
That to pass it, I listen to the voice of God.

Love is a word that is often heard,
But love can be shown without saying a word...
Love for the Creator who made us all
And love for each other, great and small.

So, I climb life's mountains with faith and love,
Patiently listening for God's will from above.
As the Word says, '...a still small voice...'
Leads and guides me to make the right choice.

Listen...listen to the great treasures of silence,
Away from this world's death wish for violence.
Listen by faith together with Love.
Oh, listen for the voice of Heaven's pure Dove.
