Trees Of Night Poem by Jean Mallette

Trees Of Night

Rating: 5.0

Trees of night, changing sight;
Darkness writes a play of fright,
Casting shadows into fears;
Daytime beauty dons its sneers;
Old familiar disappears,
Leaving stand its mammoth peers-
Trees of night, changing sight;
All the woods are void of light;
Starless skies sink from above;
Trees invoke me like a glove;
Every pine in day I love
Makes me panic when it moves
'Gainst the darkness of the night-
Trees of night!
