Trip Home Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Trip Home

Felt the chill
Upon my bones
As I left work
Headed home
Outside was dark
The day gone
Just me and my thoughts
The ride long
Thought of what
Some mean to me
Family, friends
People I see
They kept me company
As I made my way
Helped me finish
Another day
Time sped by
Never felt alone
They kept me warm
Until I made it home.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sometimes on the trip home from work I think about the people in my life and before I know it I'm pulling into my driveway.
