True Blue Poem by Onuora ilodibe

True Blue

I wish we could go back
To where we started
Before the complexity
Before threatened break up
Then stern Animosity
Made us haughty dolts
Pride before long way fall
Into the abyss hopefully
We will return back essence To harness resources
Regardless our differences
Shy away responsibilities Deterioration juxtaposes
Steering right into the eyes
What do we tell the children
For they are eager to learn
Why shouldn't we ponder
Bandits usurp our borders
Increased internally displaced
Vulnerable physical molested
Multiple sexually assaulted
Economy drastically regressive Handful comrades progressive The focal point immensely
On cadres that lute treasury
I hear people say
Sadly! !
Some say we too much a nation
Others say we Doomed by amalgamation
Well! ! !
I would say
We are Still in incubation
If we Survive these preeclampsia
That will the birth of a new nation
Borne out the backs of patriots
Who stood adroit
To make true blue impacts
Through selfless service
So help us O God
But if we fail
That failure will be our bane.
