True Envy Poem by Randy McClave

True Envy

I do not like the needy or the poor
They always get free food from the store,
And for that reason I will always scream and holler
Especially when the government gives them my tax dollar.
I don't like it when they get free government aid
For not working and for doing nothing they get paid,
They always wear better clothes than my family or me
And they get it all for free.
I don't like it when the poor and the needy gets free healthcare
I hate that most certainly I do solemnly swear,
Because, I don't really care if they ever get sick or die
And if they do, for the loss of them I would never cry.
I see them begging on every street corner
Men, women, the poor, the lazy and even the foreigner,
And I don't like it when they have better things than I do
Everything that they have is always brand new.
I don't like it when the government pays their rent
Where I always pay mine with my very last cent,
I truly don't think that it is at all fair
When only for the poor and the needy the government does care.
I wish that I did not pay taxes as the the wealthy does not
That is the dream that I and many Americans have desperately sought,
That would truly be an answered and a welcomed dream
If I could hide my money with a Tax-Avoidance Scheme.
I envy the wealthy who have everything
To the dinner table only their appetite do they ever bring,
They stay wealthy because they help no one at all
And they really don't care who will suffer or who will fall.
They stay wealthy because they refuse to help anyone
They use the blue collar and the working class as their own pawn,
And they use the government and saps like me to give them money
And we always happily do, now I think that's funny.
I want to be a wealthy man and I wanna hide all my cash
And I still would see the poor and the needy as unwanted trash,
And then if a poor or needy person or the IRS asks me for a penny
With a smile on my face I would reply, "I don't have any".
