When failing time erodes this mortal coil,
My broken finger nails to lose their hold,
On pallid brow you'll kiss embalming oil,
And your warm tears shall ease my parched lips cold.
This you should know before I'm lowered to clay,
Our love bond still tightly held unbroken,
In life not once did we our souls betray,
Fond words remain forever now unspoken.
Should e'er you feel a breeze upon your face,
My spirit reaching to your tearful eye,
Such haunting wind your figure to embrace,
My love remember me...and yield a sigh.
I once thought of you and kissed a rose,
Oh! How the taste brought you so vividly near,
I cry you do the same, from still repose,
And should a dew drop fall...perhaps my tear.
I always shadowed you like valiant Knight.
And would strike down with force of shielding hand,
Should anyone ruffle your hair, or cause you plight,
I fought strong to protect each precious strand.
Hold dear in your dreams, memories so pure,
Don't ever feel alone, my darling friend,
I would for you this day, death hap'ly endure,
Our love is sacrosanct, until worlds end!

True love is beyond death, it is an everlasting emotion so powerful a force, of a connection so special that it is a heartbeat of love everyday. Stunning write!
Very grateful for your lovely comments Hazel...I agree with you that there is a connection beyond the grave. Thanks again!
