Trust Poem by Shirley Hanley

Trust

Rating: 4.2

You enter the room
And spring on silent feet
To the arm of my chair...

Hello... how are you my friend?
I run my hand down your soft luxurious fur...

You respond with an understated trill
Your silent purr fills the room
With the quietness of contentment...

Orange, white, black
All colors that are you...

Ears connected to internal radar
Twitch forward and back again...

You reach out with your paw...
Touch your brown-spotted nose to my face
Taking in my scent...

Recognizing a trusted friend
You collapse in a colorful heap
On my shoulder...

Eyes that search the ether for unseen mysteries
Close ever so gently
And you nap...

I can see, hear and feel those warm and wonderful waves of 'Trust'. You capture that special human-feline bond magnificently. S :)
