Truth And Lies Poem by Phil Soar

Truth And Lies

Rating: 5.0

Tortured by lies in early life
Not able to see rhyme or reason
Worried by armies of jealousy
Marching through minds set on treason

Crawling with guilt, resurrecting my past
Not able to shed my emotions
Destroyed by a process of guilt ridden youth
And the symptoms of hurt and devotions

I have spent so much time seeking treasures
Just a word or two meaning the most
Not expecting the lies and the pain thus received
From a so called impervious host

Dwelling on things that happened before me
I’m on trial in my mind for a cause
How nice it would be to hear some true words
Or the odd pleasant round of applause

The journey of life is not easy. We have all these hurdles, all these lessons to learn. If however we stop for awhile along the road of the journey to look up to the sky, we can see the most beautiful colours If we stop for awhile to look at the trees, we can see the most beautiful shapes. After enjoying the beauty, we go back to our journey with its many hills.
