Twice As Bad Poem by Lacie Hebert

Twice As Bad

You say you're done, you say you're fine, but I can hear the shake,
Your voice is like a warning sign you always try to fake.
You act like you're unbothered, like you never miss my call,
But every time I pull away, you're scared of watching me fall.

You paint yourself the hero while you're breaking all the rules,
You love to play the victim just to make me feel the fool.
I'm tired of the circles and the storms you like to start,
You only show me honesty when you're afraid I'll break your heart.

I'm learning how to breathe again without your heavy tone,
I'm learning I'm not fragile just because I stood alone.
And maybe you'll regret the way you treated what you had—
But losing me's the lesson that'll hit you twice as bad.
