Two Drunken Gals On A Friday Night Poem by Margo Reid

Two Drunken Gals On A Friday Night

First my sister and I goes off walking
Our nightly exercise routine
When we’re finish we start talking
About out nightly scene
We got clean up
Put on our suit
I put on a little make-up
And trap on my boots.

We got into the car
Order a large pizza and stop at the liquor store
She didn’t want go the bar
So we decided to go and get two boxes more
We went to the park
We eat and drink it all
But when I got up I could even hardly walk
My knees went knick knock and I took a fall.

She was laughing, then ask, “Are you okay Jennalee! ”
“I guess I had too much to drink,
But my eyes are playing tricks on me! ”

I turn my head away
And look beyond the nightly street.
I know I had fun today,
But my whole body feels so weak
To wore it off-we sat down for awhile
We said to each other, “Girl we need a man! ”
But I didn’t even smile
Girl! I just broke up with one
I am still feeling blue
Oh sis I spoke with my ex on the telephone
I just don’t know what to do
Come sis lets just go home
He said, He still love me, but I make him weak and confuse
How can that be?
Why do I always loose?
I just hate when this happens to me.

As soon as we got inside,
I went into the kitchen; pour four glasses of brandy mixed with wine
I am all torn up inside,
But someday, I wish I could mend this heart of mine.
