Two Roads Poem by Justin Hendricks

Two Roads

Footsteps unheard down this old road.
Only the laughter of all my mistakes.
Mistakes I made that only showed.
A less than human image no one fakes.

To me it's pain I no longer feel.
As my road splits the past will hide.
The memories and hurt no longer real.
Only replaced In words I lied.

I take the path simpler yet unsure.
For it looks strange with its brightness.
But I know now its impure.
As I'm slowly locked in a world of madness.

I could've walked the other way.
And went to a place I knew so well.
But I'm a trader so now I pay.
The price of your heart I put for sale.
