The dog lay underneath the tree
I looked at her, she looked at me
A kind of best friend that spent time so free
Sitting beside me, under a tree
No worries about her, she doesn't recall
When I rescued her from a dangerous fall
Nursed her to health, set her spirit free
Now she sits beside me, under that tree

The poem reiterates the age old bond between a man and the dog. A dog is a man's best friend. Thanks, Phil.
