Underneath Your Wings Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Underneath Your Wings

Underneath your wings
I find the quiet---
the kind that hums with the breath of trees
and whispers of unseen rivers.

The sky loses its weight here,
as if has been drawn into you,
folded and hidden,
its vastness no longer a burden.

The earth feels smaller,
closer,
a heartbeat held in the hollow of your shadow.

Your wings do not shield me,
they dissolve me.
Iam no longer a thing apart,
but something woven into the air,
into you.
