Understanding My Writting Poem by Guarded Heart

Understanding My Writting

Rating: 5.0

It's about the mood i'm in
It's about the emotion i'm feeling
It's about the people i'm with
It's about the places i've been

To those who don't know me
They seem like another little diddy
But to those who know what i have been through
They make more sense to you
Those who know me
Will not be offended
The ones who know what i am
Will truly understand
Those who see me in my naked form
Know where i'm coming from
The ones who see me for what i am
Will accept that most are random

To understand my writting
You must go where i have gone
You most love whom i have loved
You must lose what i have lost
You must do what i have done
You must know what i've known
You must be who i am

I am not sure what your intended meaning was behind this but I like it a lot. It seems to me that you are saying unless the reader makes the effort to understand the conditions that a piece of literature was written that they will not understand the poem and it's actual meaning or what it was intended to mean. I really like this poem; it speaks to me because I have all too often run into teachers who force students to look too deep into things that were not intended to be scrutinized by the author. By finding meaning different then the author intended I think it just ruins literature.
