Do you understand the
Leaf as she is but a
Bud on her tree
Is she guarded and will a
Star shine on her at night
When she is blossomed
Has there ever been
A color green so much
To be seen
And does she work
Does she capture the sun
And breath life
And as she is tempting for
The caterpillar to eat
But trust her to him while
He becomes a vulnerable caccoon
For he too must undertake
A bloom
As her season ends do
Understand the necessity of
Age as her color is to fade
But to enrapture colors
Still more brave
Were you a witness as she
Fell from her tree
Do you remember how she
Danced as a young vibrant
Old still more vibrant leaf
As she falls is her dance over
Look how the wind has waited
For her hand and they dance
To a far distance and as
They tire together she rests
And her death is life and
Over her and under dancing
The dance of leafs and trees
And leafs and buds and blossoms
And heat and shade and enemies
And being saved and dancing
And growing and changing and
Shrinking and dying and loving
How she breathed and how breath took
Her away and how she laughed and
Smiled with life's play
