Undivided Effort(Respect Given) Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Undivided Effort(Respect Given)

Listening!
For many requires an effort.
To do this and give others,
Their undivided attention.
With this done patiently.
In the belief what to hear,
Although not expected...
Is for them considered worthy.
To find beneficial,
The words spoken to them heard.
And stay with mouths closed.
They do.
Knowing the meaning of respect.

And for people like this,
Time has a way,
To find in their minds...
An accepting of change.
Leaving them remembering,
The undivided attention given.
To then feel grateful and blessed,
They had not been distracted.
Like most today entrapped,
By thoughts to have remaining...
Focused upon themselves.
And noticed by others,
As nothing more than a selfishness...
Kept to offer.
No one is willing to receive.
