Une Fois Un Homme Est Venu. - Poem by Michael Walker

Elle dura pendant des ages;

-'Once there came a man'. Stephen Crane.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

The poem is about conformity and non-conformity in society. It is a timeless topic, very much so in 2015. I have noticed a lot more conformity in my country, due to the growing influence of the mass media, the gossipy social media, and even the despicable 'political correctness', which is a hand book for all conformists. I am completely with the non-conformist side, as a lot of people still are. Stephen Crane has written a far-reaching, prophetic poem.
