Unfinished Desire Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Unfinished Desire

"I want to live more"
To see and explore
Know the people and their ideology
Exact views on human relation and reality

I face falling health
That keeps me in uncontrolled breathe
I face the irritation
So keep aside all and want isolation

Such wish was expressed by dear friend
He had feeling of nearing an end
I called on him and tried to calm
He felt so good and extended warm welcome

"Why I feel so nervous" he told with fearful eyes
I sat near to him and tried
With whatever word power I had
He was still upset and sad

"If one has to go means go"
No one can delay or forgo
Whoever has come on earth?
Must face the certain death

"I know, I know" he tried to put brave front
But it was unreal as he doesn't
Concealed his unfinished desire
I wished him god health and advised not to tire
