Unforseen Outcome Poem by michael Smajda

Unforseen Outcome

I saved up all my money
Working all my life.
I bought a ring with diamonds.
She said, "Yes" to be my wife.

We moved into an apartment.
I thought good enough for two.
She wanted something bigger.
I built her a house with a view.

She didn't like the furniture.
The appliances were seldom used.
She did little or no housework.
Her dainty hands never got abused.

I should have seen it coming-
She just wasn't right for me.
But being a love-sick husband,
I like being hen-pecked as can be.
