Unfriend Poem by April Humason

Unfriend

You were my friend, my soul's confide,
More than just a girlfriend by my side,
Sisters we were, till life took a turn,
My boyfriend became yours, bridges began to burn.

Once like sisters, we laughed and shared,
Now your actions have left me impaired,
A tongue twister of emotions, I can't deny,
Betrayed and hurt, I question why.

Your choices polluted my life with sadness,
Diluted trust with your open-handed madness,
Now I stand alone, uprooted from our past,
Muted by shock, in disbelief I'm cast.

Once you were my everything, my heart's rhyme,
Now you're nothing, just shadows of time,
Favorite pastime now a faded ruse,
Memories vanish, leaving a painful bruise.

We were connected at the hip, inseparable pair,
But now the bond is outdated, beyond repair,
You were like a sister, but you crossed the line,
Our friendship's over, it's time to unfriend this design.
