Universal Translator Poem by Paul Butters

Universal Translator

It's the first ever meeting of the Interstellar Federation
In which the "Universal Translator" is employed.
The "Chairman" stands and asks
Each delegate to make introduction by race and planet.

The first being announces:
I am Human, from Planet Earth, in The Solar System.
So the second delegate adds:
We too are "Human" and our planet is called "Earth".
Our "Earth" orbits round The Sun, which lies
In the centre of our Solar System.

And the third representative says:
I am Human too…
And the fourth…
And the fifth…
And the sixth….
And the seventh…
