Unseen Truth Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Unseen Truth

Don't know where I went wrong but I would have loving you good
Chased after you with blind eyes
Wasn't I so naive? (laughs)
I'd allow myself to suffer more
Foolishly convinced that something could ever come of this
I found myself head down that road to heartbreak

Guess what I was looking for I wouldn't have found it in you
Think I tolerated all I could take
Honestly I have never been the same
I done put myself on the line
Just to end up where I begun

There was apart of me that knew
Just didn't want to believe it
I should've left you alone
Still I wondered about what could be
When there was nothing here to think about
You've spent most your time talking with him
Letting me know you couldn't love me
Why want someone who doesn't want you?
I want to be the one you love
The one who you can believe in
seems you've then found that
As I part from this I will remember
Just how much I cared for you
