Untitled! I Mean Completely Without Title! - Poem by Pam Morris

There was a time not shortly
after I left him.
I began to feel reverence for another.
Deeply I pondered how
much it hurts to hurt.
But to see each day
that face, a face of one
feeling reverence for me,
made so much sense.
I wanted to ignore it.
No! It cannot happen.
It persisted, racking my brain.
And again I pondered how
much it hurts to hurt.
There was a time not shortly
after I left him.
When my friends began to close
in upon me. Then soon
to scatter like bugs.
And I felt reverence for one
with that face shining
reverence upon me.
and he stayed. And I said
No! It cannot happen.
