Untouchable. The Skylark. Poem by Steve Caine

Untouchable.The Skylark.

Untouchable.

To be the envy of a Skylark,
Is an oh so special thing,
To be complimented so much by beauty on the wing.
To be the envy of Skylark,
Is very special thing,
To be complimented so much by beauty on the wing.

Down there below, and oh so far away,
Serene tranquil beauty lying in the hay.
Untouchable by circumstance,
Sung to like a queen.
Flying oh so high,
With such songs as might have been.

She's calling out to you, from high up in the skies
Singing to the empty ears, Unnoticed she flies
She's souring with the Angels, and dancing in the sun
Wishing wishing so much that you could be as one.

Down there below,
Oh so far away,
Serene tranquil beauty lying in the hay.
Untouchable by circumstance,
Sung to like a queen.
Flying oh so high,
With such songs as might have been

Until the day you look at her, and wander wander why
You never listened more to that Angel in the Sky.
