Unwilling Christs Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Unwilling Christs

''Act out your part and then retire without much ado''
This counsel runs through ages countless
As the Alpha and Omega of wisdom par excellence
This prescription holds good as applied to drama within the drama
The actual drama, to say the least, is not that simple
Sometimes it is all fun and laughter altogether
But even the lucky can't evade the occasional
Thunderblasts that threaten to chop off heads pitilessly
The less lucky find the entire habitat clouded gloomily
Monstrous storms unleashing all the beastliness until the bitter end
Unwilling Christs whose crucifixion is thrust upon
