Up Into Flight. Poem by Buddy Bee Anthony

Up Into Flight.

Didn't anyone warn you to be careful,
If you forget this,
you'll regret it
the city will find you
render your fat.
grind you to dust,
thrown down for the count,
with your blood on the mat..
Every day you pray, to God Please
say an unaswered, prayer on frayed bended knees.
a prayer, you feel in your bones won't be answered..
The days get shorter and the nights get longer
A marionette dancing on a puppetteer's strings
rolling loaded dice. dealing you cards just wrong enough,
a fool to believe one day you'll take flight.
A low card a kicker for a queen or a king
higher on the food chain.
They royally fatten you on their feed lot.
You cry a silent tear.
Following their bread crumbs year after year.,
a lost sailor, adrift, your flesh is too tough
to be sushimi, they say to you go, get out,
enough is enough...
Why put the spotlight on me in class
When the answers you seek means kissing your a**
forgetting or not caring to give me a clue.
I must be a fool to believe
When it's clear I'm only a project
when you have nothing to do.
Still, am I sick, by getting a kick.
when you cite me for being
full of hullabaloo.
I'll keep trying to be wrong enough
to spark the dark side of your baby blues.
Wind up your broken toys
we'll get up
and go
to your next new and exciting circus freak show.
Doomed to be in this devil's bargain
Writhing and twisting your award winning stuff
singing love songs so sweetly,
but, it's all just a bluff
Spinning your wheels,
til you've spun them enough
going zero to sixty into the night.
Away from the light
When you are the best,
at the wrong kind of right.
