Upon A Savage Ocean Poem by Matthew Holloway

Upon A Savage Ocean

Upon a savage ocean
The swell of every wave
And howl of the wind
The tattered sail still holds
Carries the winds direction
The rise and fall and repetition
Star's peer and disappear
Between night clouds
Where the moon in barely seen
And the destination becomes
The unknown secret of time
Its ocean spray upon the face
Not tears, never tears
In the cold of the night
In the swell of the storm
We all rise, and we all fall
Upon a savage ocean we share
That one same hope
May the hull of this ship hold
