Upon My Heart

Upon my heart is a burden placed
To see each lost soul saved
Not one manufactured by myself
But by the Victor over the grave
And Christ in me that glorious Hope
With a Light that will never dim
Has kept an active passion there
Since I've been born again

That blood that precious blood of Christ
By the which we are redeemed
It flows continually for our sake
Empowering as it cleans
And once we're saved we're in God's hand
Almighty loving Lord
And He will never ever change
Because he is the Word

The Holy Spirit Comforter
He directs our way
And when we're walking with Him
We cannot but help to pray
For God's great mercy unto us
When we had gone astray
Can be extended by grace through faith
To some needy one each day

So live in the Light of the glorious gospel
We're just pilgrims down here
Waiting for our Master's return
When we shall disappear
And being caught up by the Spirit
To our home on the other side
To fellowship there with Jesus Christ
And the church His chosen Bride!

Lord lay some soul upon my heart
That I might pray and fast
Until they're safe within the fold
Lord this the prayer I ask
To give some other sinner lost
A chance to be set free
To enjoy that so great Salvation
Because of Calvary!
