Upon Your Great Life Journey Poem by Francis Duggan

Upon Your Great Life Journey

Upon your great life journey even in your own Hometown
For everyone that builds you up there is one to drag you down
To say so much may sound negative or some may see it that way
But you lose some for to gain some and such is life they say
You show some people a flower and they will tell you 'tis a weed
And when they vote for a leader look at who they choose to lead,
They never choose one with compassion such a person seems weak in their eyes
They would prefer one who lacks in empathy for the poorer class which comes as no surprise
Upon your great life's journey that has to end one day
Not everybody you will meet kind things of you will say
And not everybody you will know will believe in equality
Many do not seem to realize that greed does cause poverty
And upon your great life's journey you will meet with the generous and kind
Though negative and judgemental people are never that hard for to find.
