Uproar Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Uproar

In an uproar.
By what a few have caused.
Never thinking of themselves to be suspected.
Yet in an uproar,
Those few have caused.
Never thinking of themselves to be affected.

The rise of a selfishness to feed it.
Was long begun.
To get this done.
The rise of greed with need to feast it.
Was long begun.
To get this done.

Now...
Everybody's in an uproar.
Over what they had before ignored.
Never thinking they would be enslaved.
By crime and corruption.
Or the cost of it they pay.

The rise of inequities.
And...
Disparities to know them believed.
Have many with their differences,
Joining others to experience...
Injustice.
Never to expect they'd get.
Disrespect upon them spit.

Now...
Everybody's in an uproar.
Over what before had been ignored.
To others with this witnessed to do.
Now...
Everybody's in an uproar.
With a feeling never felt before.
But inflicted,
By the ones they've picked.
Using them to dupe and fooled to trick.

In an uproar.
Never to believe the affect.
Or...
Never to believe they would object,
To what had begun.
Effectively and done to others.
You know...
Them and they.
And,
You know...
Them and they.
And,
You know...
Them and they.
To become...
Like them betrayed!
