Use It If You Have To Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Use It If You Have To

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Is nonsense heard.
And everywhere these days,
Nonsense heard seems to be the 'rage'.
Crazed to crave.
Everybody screams for it,
Wanting a taste.

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Are your eyes kept open wide.
Looking for an exit.
To use it if you have to.
Knowing where it is,
And through it stride.

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Is your faith.
To use it if you have to.
To use it if you have to.

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Are those steps you make.
To use them if you have to.
Preventing any headaches to eliminate.

And...
The only thing you can depend upon,
Is a mind kept clear.
Evaluating,
With lots of time to give it.
You are conscious.
And not imagining what is near.
To be real.

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Is your faith.
And pray.
Or meditate.
To use it if you have to.
To use it if you have to.
To keep away from all the craze,
Made.

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Is your mind.
Spend much time making sure it's yours.
And don't delay this,
Regretting that mistake.

The only thing,
You can depend upon...
Is your faith.
And...
Do to use it when you have to.
Pray.
Do to use it when you have to.

They only thing,
You can depend upon...
Is a mind kept clear,
And consciously used.
Doing this because you have to.
Doing this because you must,
Yourself trust.
Doing this because you must,
Yourself trust.
Doing this because you must,
Yourself trust!
