Using A Whip Poem by Randy McClave

Using A Whip

Whips are used on animals and also on slaves
To send out commands and people to their graves,
They are used to show a master's power
So, unto their presence the abused will cower.
They are used in violence and also to tease and taunt
To get the afflicted to obey with the desire they want,
They are used mainly by small-minded angry people
The same who can't scream Christianity from a Church's steeple.
They dole out punishment to push animals and people on
They are used to relieve their own irritation through brawn,
And when those tormentors get home at night
They truly praise themselves while believing they did right.
A whip was used on Jesus Christ our Lord
As he was restrained and tortured and mocked for our heavenly award,
And as Jesus died he forgave the evildoers of that great sin
As they whipped and tortured Jesus with smiles and a grin.
A whip in the hand of a white man embodies the antebellum south
With racism and hate spewing like vulgarity from a bullies mouth,
Those who use a whip on a human being is more than evil
It causes rebellion, and surely an upheaval.
