How many peddles have been plucked in my name?
Then how many flowers have been lain,
At my headstone by their heart.
Why have I inspired beauty within your art,
My honesty of deception and love
Should have caused your depart,
Instead more than ever you blossom into my arms.
If knowing you weren’t the first that I’ve caused harm,
Would you not run like the others,
For whom it didn’t even sound an alarm.
How hath your radiance been so easily trained?
This love poem I write in the name
Of your vain,
For the women I promised after,
That my heart would never be broken again.
Maybe now the others will understand,
That I know,
Like them, a similar pain, one of reckoning,
Self doubt,
Uncontrolled chaos that’s only purpose
Is to drain.
To kill our faith in others who’ve shared
Our heart.
Who’ve shared our vanity.
