'' Vanity Can Make You Look Riven '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Vanity Can Make You Look Riven ''

Our quest for perfection,
Requires a projection,
Of what the individual desires,
There's a vast selection,
For the ultimate complexion,
It's dependant on what one requires.

New legs and arms,
Created in farms,
Created especially for you,
Who is it, it harms?
Does it ring alarms,
Do you care if they're old or they're new?

Desire a new face,
Does it matter which race,
You just want to believe you look good,
To keep up the pace,
Will you continue the chase?
When someone says something rude.

Botox injected,
Leaves wrinkles protected,
For a while your lines it will hide,
But you'll feel dejected,
When what's undetected,
Starts rotting you from inside.

Lips fully blown,
Let it be known,
What you smile with are not really yours,
What you have shown,
Is how much they have grown,
A large pout is what it procures.

Fuller cheeks,
The vain one seeks,
Up above and below in the rear,
You'll hear their shrieks,
When they see the leaks,
It's guaranteed they will appear.

Don't go too far,
Your appearance don't mar,
Be content with what you've been given,
Why look bizarre,
You're already a star,
