Veiled Departure Poem by Noor Ehan

Veiled Departure

Rating: 5.0

I sense the last gulp of air
Letting down a fallen bird
Dislodging itself in measured ways
Just as solemn promises did
In the breathing silence
Of a veiled departure, long ago…

Tonight yet again,
Bleak reticence
Fills the sultry skies
Rustic sands hum softly
Our last inept goodbyes

Ages of silence cull no space
Our withered years run out of pace
Yet sweetly chime a dream forlorn
In whose calm memory,
We shall live on
Until the night should come upon
The sanctuary of our lonely hearts.
