Victimizing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Victimizing

Hate the truth.
Hate the facts.
Speak evil of others honest.
With disrespect to laugh at.
The moment they turn their backs.

Claim yourself to be a victim.
Misunderstood no one understands.
Yet you have never been seen,
Being forced to lie, dupe and deceive.
With this done to have many believe,
Your activities performed to impress...
Are wholesome, genuine.
And full of angelic righteousness.

When it would be better if you confessed,
Your hatred of the truth.
Your inability to accept the facts.
And the way you go about that,
Is a displaying of your turned back.
To perform an act too obvious,
Your no regard or respect.
For truth to hear it heard.

You!
A victim?
You are no victim.
You are a demon.
Gifted with being slick and wicked.
Victimizing and using innocence,
To pretend it for the attention to get.
And...
Accompanied with tears to flow.
To wipe away quick,
When that attention you get goes.

"What's wrong?
What is troubling you so bad? "

-I had been performing,
The best of my act.
When a heckler stood up.
And then began to laugh.-

"Oh?
The one who stood up to say,
'Your tears to cry then wiped away...
Had been seen already.
And that was just yesterday! '
