Victory Comes In The Morning Poem by Matthias Pantaleon

Victory Comes In The Morning

I've been in the cage for too long
They really don't care how I feel
I'm a bird without a sombre song
They don’t care if we burn and peel

Every day I look forward to freedom
They cannot embrace my victory
Every day I limp forward to stardom
They cannot rewrite my story

I am a composition they cannot edit
They can try but they can't stop me
I am a success; I give God the credit
They can try but they can't stop time

They can lock me away with indignity
They cannot chain my spirit for eternity
