Video Monster Poem by Della Perry

Video Monster

Video monster opened a wide, gaping mouth,
Sucked the tape into its jaws like a giant lizard
Grabs a fly with its tongue.

Video monster snaps its lids shut with a dull thud,
Swallowing the plastic coated tape
Then, with a whir and a grumble of a hungry stomach
He starts chewing it all up into a large ball
of video monster grub.

When realization sets in that it doesn't taste so good,
After all, it is just another 'Rocky' film
It splutters and chokes
And spits it out like overcooked, sticky, stringy spaghetti.
