Visions Of The Past Poem by Ardwynn Odanracne

Visions Of The Past

No sooner my eyes looked
That I madly fell
For those dark timid eyes
That taunt and sooth
At the same time.

No sooner my heart beat
That it was caught
By those dusky gentle features
That serenade yet connive
My hopes and thoughts.

No sooner my voice caught
That I was left speechless
By that eloquent baritone
That threaten yet envelope
My spirit out of me.

No sooner my senses reeled
That I willingly gave in
To that quiet and mysterious smile
That sets fire and dampens
My being at the same time.

No sooner I blinked
That he vanished from sight
Back to the relentless past
That chains and mocks with visions
That hurt and fool my soul.
