Jim Thompson the Thai Silk King and American former spy came to the Highlands in 1967 March 26 for a holiday and mysteriously disappeared in the Highlands. Till this day, no trace of his whereabout has been found. The Moonlight Cottage where he had stayed is still around and has been gazetted as a heritage building. There is a Jim Thompson Cafe at the Cameron Highlands Resort even. Cameron Highlands is famous for its cool clime, tea, strawberries, flowers and vegetables.
