Visiting My Past Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

Visiting My Past

Rating: 5.0

This I do with caution
Though not that often

When things are red
And life is unclad

Some thoughts have won my attention
Some act I've placed on repetition

Some said its backward going the old ways
But there are some life I won't erase

The thought that brought me fame
And the deeds that have preserved my name

The path that pave my way
And stage my effort pay

Visiting my past on my way to elevation
It does not need unnecessary contemplation

The path I need growth
Is exactly where I cast my vote

This I do with caution
Though not that often

So I can correct my initial mistakes
While chasing the future with pace.

The past keeps on troubling us even though it has passed. Wonderful poem
