Vivid Technicolor Dreams Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Vivid Technicolor Dreams

So many living in times gone,
Can not be blamed...
For continuing on,
With stubborn beliefs to keep.
They have been,
Selected, chosen and picked...
For a lifetime of rulership.
Over a land to call OZ.

But those to perceive,
As adorable munchkins.
And others caught up.
Swept away with their minds twisted.
In the winds of a speeding tornado.
Know this occurrence,
Is an event not to last.
To eventually recover,
A reality that returns...
When those vivid technicolor dreams,
Leaves from them to learn...
Truth to face,
Brings them down to Earth.

And...
Although this doing done,
For some is reluctant.
A confronting of the ones protesting,
The loss of their delusions.
Kept to protect a mindset unprepared,
To accept the damage left...
That has caused a destruction,
Of their fictionalized entitled lives.
This effectiveness,
Is hopefully one day to become realized.
With a doing for all to move forward.
Enabling everyone to come to agree,
There is definitely a difference...
Between delusion, denial and reality!

"I am telling you,
There is no OZ.
Whether you call it 'OURS' or not.
There is no 'There' THERE to be had.
Your demands,
To have your beliefs investigated.
Is a foolish move to prove the truth of it.
I am telling you.
We all are.
'There Is No Oz! '.
Get over it."
